Hannes Soomer (Kallio Racing, Yamaha) took P5 today in the second race of the fifth round of the Supersport World Championship in Aragon, Spain today.

This is the best result for Soomer so far in the Supersport class World Championship series. He also started the season with a very good result, finishing sixth in the first round in Australia.

Soomer started the race from the seventh position. In the first lap, he dropped to tenth and started to rise gradually from that position, was sixth in the sixth lap and picked up another place in the last lap in a close fight. "The speed and feeling were very good. Overtaking was a bit difficult for me today, I was loosing at entering the straights and at the beginning of them, but the other sectors were good, ”commented Soomer. "The result was certainly a good confidence-booster, and it is good to end the Aragon rounds with this place," he added.

To winner Andrea Locatell (BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team), Soomer lost 9.42 seconds. After the round stage, Soomer is in the tenth place in the World Championships with 50 points.

The Supersport class World Championships continue on September 18-20 in Barcelona, Spain.
